Rosetta RIP Integration
Rosetta RIP is the Cloudstore production execution layer. At the selected fulfilment site it receives Cloudstore-compatible jobs, securely streams the authorised source assets, applies the correct print, queue, colour and finishing instructions, and returns production usage data for visibility, analytics and costing.
Where Rosetta RIP sits in the workflow
Cloudstore order management decides what to produce and where to produce it. Rosetta RIP is the layer that executes production at the selected fulfilment site: it receives the Cloudstore-compatible job, processes the authorised source asset, and drives the printer and any connected finishing devices. Status and production data then flow back to Cloudstore so the order can be tracked in one place.

Cloudstore matches each job to a suitable, authorised fulfilment site and queue before Rosetta RIP receives it.

- Rights, territory and approval rules associated with the content
Routing depends on how sites, devices and rules are configured. Cloudstore aims to direct each job to a suitable, authorised destination, but available capabilities vary by environment.
Load balancing
Balancing work across print queues
Within a site, Rosetta RIP can distribute jobs across the available print queues to make use of capacity.
- Relative load and queue depth across the available print queues
- Device capability and suitability for the specific job
- Job priority, due dates and any dependencies between jobs
- Operational status, so work can avoid queues that are paused or unavailable
Load balancing operates across the devices and queues available at a site and according to configured rules. Behaviour depends on the connected environment and is applied where supported and configured.
Cloudstore-compatible production jobs
Cloudstore prepares each job so Rosetta RIP has what it needs to produce the item without distributing original content across the network. A typical job carries:
- A reference to the authorised source asset to be streamed (not a freely distributable copy)
- Product, size, media and colour requirements
- Queue, device and finishing instructions
- Marks, codes and job information to apply during production
- The identifiers needed to relate the job back to its Cloudstore order

- Status from finishing devices, where the devices and connections support it

Batching and nesting
Grouping jobs for efficient production
Rosetta RIP can group and nest compatible work to use material and capacity efficiently.
- Group compatible jobs by media, size or finishing route to use material efficiently
- Nest multiple items on a sheet or roll where the product and media allow
- Keep the relationship between each item and its originating Cloudstore order
- Apply batching according to configured rules rather than fixed assumptions
Live status
Reporting queue and device status
Rosetta RIP reports status back to Cloudstore so production progress appears in the shared order view.
- Queue and job status, such as queued, processing, printing or complete
- Device availability and operational state, where reported
- Exceptions or errors raised during processing or printing
- Progress information used to update the shared order view
Rerouting when production conditions change
Because Rosetta RIP reports queue and device status, Cloudstore can respond when conditions change. Rerouting may be considered when:
- A device or queue becomes unavailable or is paused
- A capacity or capability constraint is identified for a job
- An exception requires the work to be produced elsewhere
Rerouting is subject to device capability, available capacity and the rights and approval rules attached to the job, and is applied where supported and configured.
